Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Visual Ice cost?

Visual Ice Marketing is affordable. The cost is competitive, and in most cases less, than traditional forms of advertising. By cutting out clutter and eliminating aisle cleanup, Visual Ice Marketing is an attractive alternative.

Whether it's a national retailer or manufacturer or a regional and local store, Visual Ice Marketing customizes promotional programs that fit any budget. Typically, clients choose from one-, two- or four-week promotional programs. We also help them develop year-round promotional calendars. Visit our Promotional Calendar for more information and ideas.

How does Visual Ice work?

Simply saying, "it's magic," it would only be partly true. Visual Ice Marketing uses patented nanotechnology called Diamon-Fusion® to create a thin, temperature-sensitive coating for refrigerator or freezer doors. The coating is applied in the form of a promotional design or logo, which is "invisible" until exposed to temperature change. The Image remains visible up to two minutes after door is closed.

What is nanotechnology?

Nanotechnology is a field of applied science and technology that allows the control of matter on a scale smaller than one micrometer, normally between one and 100 nanometers, and the fabrication of devices on this same length scale.

A nanometer is one-billionth the size of a meter. Anything under 100 nanometers is considered to be nano-size. Nanotechnology is capable of transforming medicine, industry, the way we live, and in the case of Visual Ice Marketing, the way we advertise.

Who uses Visual Ice Marketing?

Any product manufacturer or retailer that uses refrigerator or freezer cases to sell products, such as refrigerated or frozen food, beverages like water, dairy, juice, beer and wine, as well as carbonated soft drinks in visi-coolers and floral items, can benefit from Visual Ice Marketing. Other companies interested in cross merchandising with retailers and manufacturers also can take advantage of this innovative form of advertising.

Is Visual Ice technology safe?

Visual Ice technology is not harmful to customers, or to products in the freezer and refrigerator cases. Visual Ice technology is patent pending in more than 140 countries, including the United States.

Are there certain times of year that Visual Ice Marketing is affected by the weather?

Yes, the winter months of December, January and February for northern states is not recommended in dairy and refrigerated coolers only. Visual Ice is effective in freezer cases year round. You can see a full description of those zones here.
